OMA Group Staff go the extra mile during the COVID-19

OMA GROUP have come together virtually along the West African coast to run/walk/cycle a mile to complete a virtual marathon.

Charities and charitable organisations are struggling more than most during the Covid-19 pandemic and OMA Group employees in West Africa wanted to do something to help.   OMA Group agreed to sponsor staff to run/walk or cycle a ‘virtual marathon’ one mile at a time.

A fantastic turnout saw 77 employees from across West Africa as well as South Africa, Australia and the UK took part and ran just under three marathons raising a fantastic £1523.00 for local charities.

Now we’re looking to increase that.  Can you help?

All money raised will be split between the nominated organisations each office has selected, who are working with some of the poorest members of our communities in very difficult times.  You can donate via Virgin Giving here:

The organisations we are supporting are:

Benin
SAHFA International works to help promote education, eliminate hunger, food insecurity and malnutrition, helping rural farmers, facilitating access to drinking water, reduce rural poverty and giving support to orphanages through donations.

Burkina Faso
A.M.P.O work in the field of children in difficulty through multifaceted actions in areas such as health, pre-professional training, educational support and economic support.

Ghana
In Ghana we are donating to two organisations that OMA Ghana know well who support children with disabilities:  Samaritan Home, Adidome and the Royal Seed Home

Ivory Coast
We are supporting DLS or Donnons-leur du sourire a non-profit NGO whose mission is to help the needy of all kinds, all sexes, all races and all ages. raise funds to help a variety of project

Senegal
les racines de l’espoir  is a humanitarian society whose mission is to help vulnerable or sick people including street children
